The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has issued a statement regarding the landslide that occurred at the Çöpler Gold Mine in Erzincan's İliç district.
In its statement, the Ministry indicated that checks have been carried out at designated points along the Sabırlı and Çöpler streams and the Euphrates River, and that no pollution has been detected so far.
The statement issued following the disaster also shared details regarding the tragedy at the Çöpler Gold Mine, where 9 workers were left under the rubble. Furthermore, it included the following statement: "From the very first moment, routine instant samples have been taken from designated points along the Sabırlı and Çöpler streams and the Euphrates River, and they are being monitored. As of now, no pollution has been detected."
