In the Malkara district of Tekirdağ, Bakiye Yeniçeri took her daughter, Sıla Y., to the hospital. It was revealed that the baby, whom the mother had previously brought to the hospital due to bruises on her body, had been sexually abused.

Sıla's five-year-old sibling has also been taken under protection.

"It has been deemed appropriate to make the following statement regarding the news reports in some media outlets stating that 'The 2-year-old baby who was subjected to violence and abuse in Tekirdağ has lost her life'.
Upon the incident being reported to law enforcement units, our provincial directorate teams took immediate action.
The suspects related to the incident have been taken into custody by law enforcement units.
The sibling of our child who lost her life has been taken under state protection and psychosocial support efforts have been initiated.
As the Ministry, we will be closely following the legal process to ensure that the perpetrators RECEIVE THE HEAVIEST PENALTY.
