Ministry discloses brands selling counterfeit food products to the public

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry launched a new website today at 09:00, where brands involved in food fraud are disclosed to citizens in real-time. The list in question was shared with the public at "güvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr".

In this context, 56 different products that have been spoiled or altered in a way that endangers human life and health were identified. Additionally, 463 different products confirmed to have been subjected to imitation or adulteration were published. Citizens encounter two different categories via the Food Public Announcement tab on the site.

The products in question can be viewed under the headings "Foods Endangering Health" and "Foods Subjected to Imitation and Adulteration". The information on the site is updated in real-time.

MINISTER YUMAKLI HAD ANNOUNCED

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated in his announcement yesterday: “From tomorrow on, the data will be available here in real-time. I wish this system, which we are implementing for the accurate, fast, and transparent information of our consumers, to be beneficial. We will also publish our final list regarding the old system, covering the period between March 2022 and January 1, 2024, as a single list tomorrow, just as the previous ones were published. We cannot carry out the issue of reliable food without our citizens. We want to see them more involved in the process. Just like in the QR code application. We are also calling on firms and businesses to ‘re-check your own processes.’ In this way, building brand trust will also be a gain for our firms.”
