Ministry of Health responds to claims that 'e-Nabız was sold to Qatar'

The Ministry issued a written statement on its website regarding reports in some media outlets claiming that e-Nabız had been sold to Qatar.

"IT HAS NOT BEEN SOLD TO ANY COUNTRY"

The statement noted that the e-Nabız Personal Health Record System was designed and developed in line with the goals and objectives of the Ministry of Health and belongs to the Ministry in its entirety. It was recorded that e-Nabız has 70 million active users and has become a massive set of information systems communicating in a secure environment with more than 30 thousand health facilities integrated with 39 different central systems.

"The e-Nabız system has not been sold to any country, nor can it be sold to any country without the permission of the Ministry of Health, and it cannot be used without the Ministry's authorization. e-Nabız and similar national projects have brought our country to a point that is envied on a global scale in the field of health informatics," the statement said, adding that this successful atmosphere created in the field of health informatics has also contributed to many Turkish companies providing health informatics services abroad by using the valuable experience they have gained in Turkey.

"ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO OUR MINISTRY"

Emphasizing that it is impossible for citizens' personal health data to be sold or disclosed to third parties in any way, the statement noted the following:

"Our citizens' personal health data is protected by taking the highest administrative and technical measures in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and relevant legislation. e-Nabız has been developed according to our country's needs and has been included in our Ministry's Critical Assets list due to the confidentiality and security requirements of the data it hosts. e-Nabız is the pride of the Republic of Turkey, and all its rights belong to our Ministry."

The statement, which noted that e-Nabız has become a main element of the health system with the role it plays in the diagnosis and treatment process, emphasized that they will not allow a loss of trust in this system, which citizens use to manage their own health, through fake news.

The statement included the following: "We hereby inform the public that we will resort to all legal remedies against those who produce and disseminate these ugly and untrue so-called news reports."
