In a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, it was stated: "On July 30, 2025, our heroic comrade-in-arms, Artillery Specialist Sergeant Servet Ökkeş Çakır, was severely injured in a military vehicle accident in Edirne. He was immediately transported to the hospital but could not be saved despite all interventions and has been martyred. We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
