Ministry of National Defense: 13 targets destroyed

The Ministry of National Defense has announced that a new operation has been carried out against the PKK terrorist organization.

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) reported that 13 targets, identified as housing terrorists at the leadership level, were destroyed in air operations conducted against Gara, Metina, Hakurk, and Kandil in northern Iraq.

In a statement made on the MSB's social media account, it was stated that air operations were carried out at 17:00 against terrorist targets in the Gara, Metina, Hakurk, and Kandil regions of northern Iraq, in accordance with the right to self-defense arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, in order to neutralize the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, to eliminate terrorist attacks against the public and security forces from northern Iraq, and to ensure border security.

The statement included the following:

"With the air operations, 13 targets consisting of caves, bunkers, shelters, and depots used by the separatist terrorist organization, which were assessed to contain terrorists at the leadership level, were destroyed.

In the operations carried out, a large number of terrorists were neutralized by using the maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition.

The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the bosom of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve, as in the past, for the survival and security of our country and our nation until not a single terrorist remains.

During these operations, every measure was taken to ensure that innocent civilians, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment were not harmed."
