Ministry of National Defense announces death toll has risen to 8

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that 2 more soldiers who were seriously wounded in a clash with terrorists attempting to infiltrate a base area in the Claw-Lock Operation region have passed away, bringing the death toll to 8.

In the statement made by the MSB, it was stated: “In the clash that broke out with terrorists attempting to infiltrate one of our base areas in the Claw-Lock Operation region on January 12, 2024, two more of our comrades-in-arms who were seriously wounded could not be saved despite all interventions and have fallen as martyrs, bringing the number of our heroic fallen comrades-in-arms to eight. 

The number of terrorists neutralized in the ongoing operations in the region has risen to 15. 

We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyrs who lost their lives in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to their grieving families, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation.”
