Within the scope of the Turkey Century Maarif Model, the Ministry of National Education has adopted a "differentiated education" approach, which will offer "enriched" and "supportive" training for students with different talents and interests in classrooms, as part of the new curriculum. To facilitate the transition to "skill-based" education introduced by the new curriculum, emphasis has been placed on artificial intelligence technologies in education, and the content in the Education Information Network (EBA) has been enriched.
The Ministry is preparing to offer MEBİ, an individual learning platform that is innovative, flexible, supports the YKS preparation process, and allows learning processes to be fully personalized, to high school students by increasing its "digitalization" efforts.
With the launch of the platform, which was designed with the goal of ensuring equal opportunity in education, it is aimed to provide all secondary education students with equal educational opportunities, independent of their location and circumstances.
Furthermore, MEBİ's digital resources and interactive materials allow students to reinforce their lessons, review topics whenever they wish, and actively participate in the learning process.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL BE ABLE TO CREATE THE STUDENT'S STUDY PLAN AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS
MEBİ will feature a wide pool of videos and a question bank, topic summaries, guidance videos, and interactive tests for students. Accordingly, the platform will contain 1,036 lecture videos, 17 thousand 97 minutes of video content, 1,036 topic summaries, and 61 thousand 361 questions. The platform will be continuously updated as 9th-grade course content, where the new curriculum is applied, is uploaded in accordance with the annual plan.
With the lecture videos within the scope of the individual learning platform MEBİ, students will be able to reinforce what they have learned, and the learning process will be facilitated with key information in the topic summaries.
On the platform, where artificial intelligence will be used effectively, the system tracks students' learning paths and helps them reshape their study plans by providing feedback during the process.
In MEBİ, which will include video solutions for all questions, students will have an efficient and disciplined study process by accessing video solutions instantly. The platform will also present detailed reports consisting of the student's study data in the system, dynamically showing their progress.
PLATFORM CENTERED ON THE MASTERY LEARNING APPROACH
The platform prepared by the Ministry of National Education was designed by centering on the mastery learning approach, which allows students to learn new knowledge and skills at their own pace.
In this context, MEBİ aims for every student to fully acquire learning outcomes by dividing the information that needs to be learned into these outcomes. With the mastery learning approach, students will either move on to the next topic or complete their deficiencies regarding the previous topic based on feedback provided by the application, after being informed about topics that need to be repeated or where incomplete learning has occurred.
Additionally, the content within the platform will be strengthened with animation and simulation-supported narrations to ensure that students' learning becomes permanent.
CONSISTS OF 6 MODULES
MEBİ will consist of 6 modules: "YKS Preparation", "School Lessons", "Preparing for Mock/Written Exams", "Study Plan", "Reporting" and "Guidance".
In the sections classified as TYT, AYT, and YDT packages within the "YKS Preparation" module, students will be able to examine readiness tests, assessment tests, lecture videos, topic summaries, solved example questions, and solved past exam questions. Furthermore, in the section prepared based on the previous year's YKS data, students will be able to learn their scores and rankings from the mock exams they took during the exam process in a near-realistic way.
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS COURSE PACKAGES COMPLIANT WITH THE NEW CURRICULUM
The "Preparing for Mock/Written Exams" module will include nationwide mock exams for YKS. When they wish, students will be able to participate in 10 TYT, 6 AYT, and 6 YDT mock exams to be held nationwide through the platform until June 2025.
In the "Study Plan" module, students will be able to create their own weekly study plans, allowing them to spend their YKS preparation process in a more systematic and disciplined manner.
In the "Reporting" module, students will be able to see the completion status of the content belonging to the "YKS Preparation" and "School Lessons" sections. In the module where progress reports for TYT, AYT, and YDT mock exams will also be presented to students on a course-by-course basis, analyses will be made on a course-by-course basis and progress charts will be created.
Finally, in the "Guidance" module, the motivation, psychological support, and information sought during the YKS preparation process will be accessible. Students will be able to obtain information about what can be done to increase motivation for lessons through this module.
THE STUDENT'S CLOSEST FRIEND ON THE PLATFORM WILL BE KANKA
The Ministry has also added an artificial intelligence-supported virtual assistant service called KANKA to MEBİ to provide convenience to students on the platform. In this context, instead of searching for the content they need within the system, students will be able to access the results they want quickly by asking KANKA without wasting time. Furthermore, MEBİ will be able to support students everywhere with its mobile application. With the mobile application, students will be able to continue their learning experiences whenever they want.
