Ministry of National Education will not assign homework such as solving tests or writing summaries during the semester break

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has sent a letter encouraging students to participate in artistic, cultural, athletic, and scientific activities instead of homework during the semester break.

Additionally, interactive digital guidebooks have been prepared to direct students toward activities they can do with their families, appropriate for their age. The letter requested that students not be given homework that directs them to a single area, such as solving tests or writing summaries, and instead encouraged them to participate in artistic, cultural, athletic, and scientific activities.

For families, interactive digital guidebooks have been prepared to increase quality time spent with students, to better understand children's inner worlds, and to establish more effective communication with them. These books were designed to help children develop their language learning and thinking skills. For each day, suggestions for games, stories, fairy tales, poems, proverbs, riddles, puzzles, tongue twisters, and jokes were provided so that students can spend enjoyable time with their families.

The MEB General Directorate of Secondary Education has prepared a "Semester Break Guide for Parents of High School Students." This guide includes suggestions on many topics, from increasing school success to improving family relationships, and from technology usage to ways of spending quality time. The guidebook contains information that will help families establish a healthy and supportive relationship with their children. These resources have been made available on the MEB website.
