Ministry of Trade: Business in Üsküdar fined for 12 counts of non-compliance
Ministry of Trade Press Advisor Bekir Kaplan announced that a total administrative fine of 37,992 TL was imposed on a business for 12 counts of non-compliance following reports that it charged 10 TL for a slice of lemon served with tea.

Ministry of Trade Press Advisor Kaplan stated in a post on his social media account, "Following reports in some media outlets recently that '10 TL was charged for a lemon served with tea,' our Ministry of Trade initiated an investigation into the matter, and an on-site inspection was carried out by our Ministry's teams at the relevant business operating in Üsküdar/Kuzguncuk on November 17, 2025.
During the inspection, the business was informed about price tags, tariff-price lists, and legislation regarding services, and the statement of the business official regarding the matter was recorded. As a result of the examination, a total administrative fine of 37,992 TL was imposed on the business due to 12 violations identified within the scope of the Price Tag Regulation of the Law on the Protection of Consumers No. 6502.
In addition, invoices for the last 3 months were requested for 4 different products belonging to the beverage group offered for sale at the business. The final assessment regarding the products in question will be made by the Ministry of Trade's Unfair Price Evaluation Board after the necessary examinations are completed.
