The villa where 2003 Miss Turkey and model Aslı Baş lost her life after falling from the terrace of a luxury villa owned by famous businessman Ahmet Bayer while vacationing in the Bodrum district of Muğla has been sold for 15 million dollars.
Aslı Baş, who represented Turkey in the Miss Model Of The World competition held in Antalya in 2003 and earned the title of "Queen of Models," was vacationing in the luxury villa in the Yalıkavak neighborhood of Bodrum, where she was staying at the invitation of Ahmet Bayer.
FAMOUS TOURISM OPERATOR AND HIS SONS WERE TRIED IN A CASE THAT LASTED YEARS
The case opened following the death of Aslı Baş, who tragically lost her life after falling from the villa's terrace on the night of July 21, 2010, had caused a great stir. After the incident, a lawsuit was filed against Ahmet Bayer, his sons Hakan and Volkan Bayer, and employee Murat Umirov on charges of murder. An aggravated life sentence was requested for Ahmet Bayer and his children for 'intentional killing,' and a 7.5-year prison sentence was requested for Murat Umirov on charges of 'tampering with and destroying evidence.' However, at the end of the trial process that lasted nearly ten years, the court ruled for the acquittal of all defendants in January 2020 on the grounds that "it was not proven that the charged crime was committed by the defendants."
THE CONTROVERSIAL VILLA NOW HAS A NEW OWNER
According to the report by Yaşar Anter from Sözcü, the ultra-luxury villa, which remained on the agenda for a long time after Aslı Baş's death and is located in one of Yalıkavak's favorite bays on a 1-decare plot with 800 square meters of living space, a swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and a seafront location, changed hands last week. According to the sale, the villa was purchased by Ankara-based businessman Eşref Keleş for 15 million dollars.
It was learned that the title deed transfer took place last Friday. Keleş had appeared in the public eye as an AKP Diyarbakır parliamentary candidate nominee in the 2018 general elections.
