MIT captures wanted terrorist Kadir Çelik following his activities in Iraq and Syria

The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has captured Kadir Çelik, a member of the Maoist Communist Party (MKP) who was on the gray list of wanted terrorists, in an operation conducted in a Middle Eastern country.

 

Terrorist Çelik, an MKP member who was determined to be seeking to carry out a sensational attack against Turkey, was brought to Turkey by MIT and handed over to law enforcement authorities.

As a result of intelligence efforts, it was determined that terrorist Çelik had operated within the illegal structure of the MKP in Istanbul between 2011 and 2016. One of these activities was identified as a Molotov cocktail attack during a road-blocking protest in Okmeydanı.

 

Following his illegal activities in Turkey, terrorist Kadir Çelik crossed into northern Iraq in 2016. Within the framework of the cooperation between the MKP and the PKK terrorist organization, Çelik received “Assassination Training” in PKK camps in northern Iraq. Moving to the Syrian theater in 2018, Çelik carried out armed activities in northern Syria in coordination with PKK elements.
