MIT conducts precision operation in Iraq: So-called leader neutralized

The MIT has neutralized Azad Akıncı, the so-called leader of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization's Mahmur Camp, in an operation carried out in Mahmur, northern Iraq.

Azad Akıncı, a member of the PKK/KCK who was on the red category of the wanted terrorists list, was on the MIT's target list.

The MIT determined the location of the terrorist Akıncı through its intelligence sources.

The MIT followed Azad Akıncı step by step in Mahmur, located 160 km deep from the Turkish border. At the most opportune moment, Azad Akıncı was neutralized in a precision operation.

It was announced that the terrorist joined the organization in 2006, moved to northern Iraq in 2014 where he held various high-level positions, and had been the so-called leader of the Mahmur Camp as of 2023.
