According to information obtained from security sources, terrorist Faik Aydın, who was under close surveillance by MIT, was identified as being involved in terrorist activities in Europe.

It was learned that after crossing into Iraq, the terrorist pressured the local population in Sulaymaniyah to support and join the organization. A decision was made to conduct an operation against the terrorist, who was determined to hold a critical role within the organization.

A sensitive operation was carried out with the participation of field agents to put an end to the activities of terrorist Aydın. Once the appropriate time and conditions were met, Faik Aydın, codenamed "Renas Raperin," was neutralized in an operation conducted 160 kilometers beyond Turkey's border in Iraq.

CONDUCTED TERRORIST RECRUITMENT EFFORTS IN EUROPE FOR THE ORGANIZATION

Through its effective intelligence network, MIT uncovered the terrorist's organizational activities in Europe.

It was determined that the terrorist, who was involved in the PKK/KCK terrorist organization's youth and social outreach efforts in Europe, had recently been conducting recruitment activities in Europe on behalf of the PKK/KCK, which has been struggling to find new members.

It was noted that the terrorist, who joined the organization's armed wing in 2015 after operating for many years in several European countries and moving to Northern Iraq, had an active arrest/detention warrant issued by the Muş Criminal Court of Peace for the charge of "membership in an armed terrorist organization," and that he was expected to be assigned to critical duties within the organization.

Furthermore, it was learned that one of terrorist Faik Aydın's siblings, Saygı Aydın, was involved in terrorist incidents in Erzurum between 2014 and 2018 and was neutralized in 2018, while another sibling, Ferhat Aydın, died in Syria while serving within the PKK/YPG between 2013 and 2014.
