The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and the Istanbul Provincial Police Department conducted a joint operation that resulted in the capture of PKK/KCK terrorist organization member Serdar Tunagür in Istanbul.
Meticulous work by intelligence units revealed that Tunagür had actively participated in activities carried out on behalf of the PKK/KCK in Portugal.
It was determined that Tunagür had previously operated in the rural areas of the PKK/KCK and at the Mahmur camp, and he had been under surveillance by security units for a long time.
Upon receiving information that Serdar Tunagür was in Istanbul, security forces launched the operation. Tunagür, who was taken into custody during the successful operation in Istanbul, was referred to judicial authorities.
