Tips made to the organization's website last year increased compared to the previous year, rising from 75 thousand to 106 thousand.

7 THOUSAND OF THE TIPS ARE RELATED TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS

7 thousand 40 of these tips were related to terrorist organizations. Thanks to these tips, operations were carried out against terrorist organizations by MIT and law enforcement agencies. Last year, MIT received 2 thousand 785 tips in German, English, Russian, French, and Arabic. A large portion of the tips made in foreign languages were related to the terrorist organizations PKK/YPG, ISIS, and FETÖ. The number of tips increased 1.5 times in 2022 compared to the year before, and 4.5 times compared to two years ago. Tips are made through the MIT Presidency's “www.mit.gov.tr” website, just like job applications. Those who select the “How can you help” tab on the website are directed to the tip page, which contains the statement: “If you have any information that could harm or pose a threat to our national security, we would like you to share it with us.” Tips can be made either by entering a name, surname, and contact information, or anonymously. The page also includes a warning that “false reports will result in legal action.”

APPLICATIONS TO MIT HAVE INCREASED

Last year, 12 thousand 372 people applied to work at MIT. It was learned that the number of job applications has increased approximately 2.5 times in two years. It was learned that the increase in the number of tips and job applications to MIT was influenced by television series recently broadcast on TV channels that focus on the organization. These series cover the events that take place during MIT's methods of combating threats against Turkey.
