Mother detained in fire tragedy released under judicial control

Mother Akcan (27), who was brought to Tahsinağa Mosque under police escort to attend her children's funeral ceremony but was taken to Selçuk State Hospital after falling ill, has completed her treatment.

Akcan was transferred from the hospital to the courthouse. Following the procedures, Mother Akcan was released under judicial control.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the fire that broke out yesterday in a house in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of the Selçuk district, siblings Fadime Nefes (5), Funda Peri (4), Aslan Miraç (3), Masal Işık (2), and Aras Bulut Akcan (1), who were alone in the house and determined to have been affected by smoke, lost their lives.

It was learned that in her initial statement, the detained mother Akcan explained that she had left the house for a short time to collect money from a scrap dealer and that she saw the fire had started when she returned home 15-20 minutes later.
