A motion from the Speaker of the Parliament regarding the conflict process with Iran, which began and deepened with Israel's aggression, has been unanimously approved by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM).
The motion, bearing the signature of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, included the following statements:
"As the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, we are closely monitoring with concern how Israel's long-standing unlawful and genocidal policies threaten the entire world. Following the attacks that have led to the massacre of tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza, the attacks on Iran clearly demonstrate that the Israeli administration is pursuing a conflict strategy that targets regional peace in its entirety. In addition to decades of occupation, systematic oppression, and discrimination, the Palestinian people, who are now struggling against genocide and facing starvation due to lack of access to aid, continue to fight for their existence. By targeting civilians and children waiting for aid, the Israeli government and army have added another grave crime to their practices, which fall under the category of crimes against humanity.
On the other hand, Israel's attacks on Iran are escalating tension in the region and bringing with them the risk of a large-scale war. This attack is a provocative and threatening step taken against the ongoing process of international cooperation and nuclear negotiations. It is clearly seen that the occupying Israel is also the perpetrator of regional war. In addition to Palestine, the ongoing Israeli attacks in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen are reflections of the Netanyahu government's intention to spread the conflict.
In this process, the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye stands with all innocent peoples in our region and against war and Israeli massacres. Undoubtedly, the ongoing legal processes against Netanyahu and some government members, both in his own country and in international judicial bodies, will register this administration as genocidal.
This aggression and the state terrorism practiced by Israel have long since condemned Israel and the imperialist powers that support it in the eyes of the peoples. As the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, we condemn in the strongest terms Israel's ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza, all its actions that threaten regional peace, and finally its attacks on Iran. We call on all international institutions and governments that remain silent in the face of Israel's aggression to take responsibility based on international law and diplomacy. We want it to be known that we will continue our initiatives for the establishment of a lasting solution in the region with an understanding that prioritizes peace and is based on human life.
In this context, we also expect the international community to take a decisive and principled stance to stop Israel. We declare once again that we stand behind the diplomatic efforts we have shown for the establishment of a fair, lasting, and equitable peace in the region."
