Move against pedophilia and blackmail groups on the internet: Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices take action

In his statement, Minister Tunç also included the following remarks: "Social network providers and internet pages broadcasting in our country are obliged to comply with the laws and rules of our state."

The full statement by Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç is as follows:

Judicial investigations have been initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices regarding content constituting a crime on certain social network providers and internet pages.

In accordance with Law No. 5651 on the 'Regulation of Publications Made on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through These Publications,' sanctions such as administrative fines, advertising bans, bandwidth throttling, and access blocking will be resolutely applied against social network providers and internet pages that do not remove this content and do not implement judicial decisions taken on this matter.

The Republic of Türkiye is a State of Law. It is the duty of the State of Law to protect society from crime.

Social network providers and internet pages that broadcast in our country and have millions of users are also obliged to comply with the laws and rules of the Republic of Türkiye. No one has any privileges.

We will never allow attempts to poison our youth and children, who are the guarantee of our future, or to shake the foundations of our social structure.

We will absolutely not compromise on our determination to fight against crime and criminals.
