Mufti office employee Selman Başer killed in armed attack
Selman Başer, an employee at the Beydağ District Mufti's Office in İzmir, was killed after being shot by an assailant who entered the institution. It was revealed that the incident stemmed from a previous feud between Başer and the attacker.

Başer, a data preparation clerk who began his duties in the district 2 months ago, was shot by a person who came to the institution.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Examinations determined that Başer had lost his life. It was learned that the fleeing assailant had worked as a religious official with the deceased Başer in the Datça district of Muğla and that there was a feud between them.
SUSPECT APPREHENDED
In a joint operation conducted by the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Intelligence, Organized Crime, and Public Security branches, along with the Manisa Provincial Police Department, it was determined that the suspect was in the Turgutlu district of Manisa.
Police teams apprehended the suspect, S.D., along with the handgun used in the incident. It was learned that in his initial statement to the police, the suspect said he committed the murder due to the feud between them.
