It has been learned that Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who has been imprisoned since July 2025, has been transferred to a hospital for treatment due to health issues. According to the information obtained, Böcek had to cut short his meeting with his lawyer on Saturday evening due to a very severe coughing fit.

It was noted that Böcek, who was taken to the hospital by an ambulance called by prison officials following the coughing attacks, had been experiencing serious health problems in prison throughout the past week due to a respiratory ailment. It was reported that Böcek told his inner circle, "I am experiencing the same symptoms I had during the COVID period."
