Multi-vehicle pileup on the highway: Casualties reported

According to initial reports, 1 person died and 7 people were injured in a multi-vehicle traffic accident involving a tow truck and 2 cars in Düzce.

The car driven by İhsan Süzer lost control and struck the barrier on the Istanbul-bound section of the Anatolian Highway in the Yeşilyayla area of Düzce after the driver lost steering control.

DRIVER LOSES LIFE

The car, which had spun onto the road, was struck by Akif Karagöz's car and Murat Bülbül's tow truck, both traveling in the same direction. İhsan Süzer, the driver of the vehicle that hit the barrier, lost his life at the scene. Melisa Süzer, who was trapped in the vehicle, was extracted by Düzce Municipality fire crews.

INJURED TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL

The other drivers, Murat Bülbül and Akif Karagöz, as well as Sema, Hatice, and Bünyamin Karagöz, who were in the vehicles, and one person whose identity has not yet been determined, were injured in the accident. The injured were taken by ambulance to Sakarya Hendek State Hospital, Düzce Atatürk State Hospital, and Düzce University Faculty of Medicine Training, Research and Application Hospital.

The body of İhsan Süzer, who lost his life in the accident, was taken to Düzce University Faculty of Medicine Training, Research and Application Hospital for an autopsy following the prosecutor's investigation.

Meanwhile, traffic, which had been restricted to a single lane due to the accident, returned to normal after the vehicles were removed.
