Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested on March 23 as part of investigations into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and sent to the İzmir Closed Penal Execution Institution, underwent surgery due to a mass detected in his neck near the carotid artery. The surgery was performed at the İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.
PLANNED TO BE MOVED TO A REGULAR ROOM WITHIN 2 HOURS
Following the operation, which lasted approximately three hours, it was learned that Çalık’s surgery went well and he is currently being kept sedated in intensive care. Hospital officials stated that Mayor Çalık is planned to be moved from intensive care to a regular room within two hours.
