Murat Sancak bids farewell to Adana Demirspor

Former Adana Demirspor president Murat Sancak, who remains in custody as part of a betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has made a statement via social media.

TRANSFERRED HIS SHARES

In his statement, Murat Sancak announced that he has transferred his club shares to the Adana Demirspor Supporters Association and bid farewell.

DENIED ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM

Murat Sancak also spoke about the betting allegations against him. While denying the claims, Sancak said, "Anyone who sells a match sells their honor! Anyone who plays betting and gambling is a coward! And anyone who facilitates it is the biggest coward of all."

Murat Sancak used the following expressions in his statement:

MY VERY VALUABLE FAMILY (ADANA DEMIRSPOR CLUB)

First of all, I would like to send my greetings to everyone. I am writing these lines to you on 31.12.2025 at 20:10 from my cell in Metris T-Type Prison.

I wish for the year 2026 to bring peace, health, security, and success to the Adana Demirspor family, our country, and all of humanity.

The journey that began on July 4, 2018, will unfortunately come to an end as we enter 2026. We were together for exactly 8 years, through thick and thin. I ask for forgiveness from anyone I may have hurt or upset during this process. Because I did not hurt you knowingly or intentionally. I forgive you, and I ask that you forgive me.

I know this very well: to find peace in this life, one must forgive everyone and grant their blessing. I recommend this to you as well. The fact that I have transferred Adana Demirspor Club does not mean that my emotional ties with Adana Demirspor are broken. I will continue to support it until my last breath, even from afar, and it will always have a place in my heart.

I never wanted it to be this way. But this is life, unfortunately; due to reasons and conditions beyond my control, the situation requires this.

Now I want to address you, the owners of Adana Demirspor (the fans); I know that you will take care of the team as you always have. However, I suggest you change the way you take care of it. Even though I wish for beauty and success for our team with all my heart, financial support is essential for success to come. This requires prioritizing the city's team. While we supporters can comfortably buy the jerseys of the 4 big teams for 3,000.00 TL, the fact that people find figures like 700.00 TL for an ADS jersey expensive and do not buy it is what leads to this point. Many more examples could be given. I know you understand me.

I also want to address the city's leading figures. Honorable Governor, Chief of Police, Metropolitan Mayor, District Mayors, and especially our politicians and businessmen, TAKE CARE of the city's team. This is my final request from you.

May you all be entrusted to God. May Adana Demirspor's future be bright. With longing, love, and respect, I am handing over our team to Umut and Sercan. They will also transfer it to the Adana Demirspor Association. (Thank you to them)
