In an incident that took place in the evening hours in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun, 40-year-old Dursun Can and 50-year-old Mesut İnan encountered each other on Hasan Taş Street in the Sanayi neighborhood. According to allegations, the argument that broke out between the parties due to a long-standing feud escalated quickly.

As the argument intensified, Dursun Can severely wounded Mesut İnan in the chest with a knife he was carrying. Upon notification, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Despite all interventions by medical personnel, Mesut İnan lost his life at the hospital to which he was transported.

Police teams, who launched an investigation following the incident, quickly apprehended and detained Dursun Can as he attempted to flee the scene. The suspect was arrested by the court after his processing was completed.

It was alleged that Dursun Can had been released from prison 5 months ago and that the murder was linked to Mesut İnan harassing his ex-wife, C.G., while Can was in prison. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Such cases have once again revealed that the spiral of crime and the culture of violence are becoming increasingly widespread in Turkey. Experts point out that preventive social policies must be increased to ensure social peace and a secure environment.
