Murder in Ankara over business transfer dispute

A financial dispute in Çankaya, reportedly stemming from a business transfer, escalated into an armed attack. The suspect was apprehended at the scene.

A financial dispute between parties in Ankara's Çankaya district, reportedly over the transfer of a business, has ended in bloodshed. Taner Aksoy lost his life and Kenan Bayata was injured in the incident, which occurred in the Kızılırmak neighborhood on September 27 at approximately 18:20.

The attack in Çankaya was captured on security camera footage.

According to the information obtained, a dispute previously arose between Halil Tuncer, who is said to be the new owner of the business, and Taner Aksoy, Kenan Bayata, and Bahattin Şahin due to the business transfer. On the day of the incident, the group arrived in the area by vehicle, and it is alleged that Tuncer opened fire on them with a pump-action shotgun.

The footage shows the area where the parties were located before the attack.

Taner Aksoy died at the scene as a result of the gunfire. Kenan Bayata was wounded in the groin area. Upon notification, police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the area. The injured Bayata was taken to the hospital after initial intervention by medical teams.

The activity at the scene was recorded by surrounding cameras.

Police and medical teams worked in the area following the attack.

It was stated that Bahattin Şahin, who was in the area during the incident, left the scene after the attack. Police teams apprehended and detained the suspect, Halil Tuncer, at the scene along with the pump-action shotgun believed to have been used in the incident.

Police have begun reviewing camera recordings from the area where the attack took place.

Security camera recordings are also being evaluated in the investigation.

The duty public prosecutor was informed about the incident. The investigation has been transferred to the Homicide Bureau of the Ankara Police Department's Public Security Branch. It was learned that crime scene investigation teams conducted evidence collection in the area and that camera recordings are being examined to determine the nature of the attack.
