Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici targeted famous artist Gülben Ergen in a statement made at his party's Adıyaman Provincial Congress. Destici leveled harsh criticisms after Ergen allegedly refused to hold the hand of a woman wearing a headscarf while dancing the halay at an event she attended in Adıyaman.

HEAVY ACCUSATIONS FROM DESTİCİ AGAINST ERGEN

Mustafa Destici claimed that during the event in Adıyaman, Gülben Ergen refused to hold the hand of the woman in a headscarf next to her, but later held the hand of a woman dressed in revealing clothing. Destici described the situation as follows:

"I have a note in front of me: An artist, Gülben Ergen, attended an event in Adıyaman. While dancing the halay with citizens, she let go of the hand of the person next to her when she saw she was wearing a headscarf. I watched the video; the woman in the headscarf tries to hold her hand again, and she pushes her hand away and does not hold it. But on the other side, she holds the hand of the woman who is not covered and dances the halay with her."

Following this incident, Destici continued to criticize Gülben Ergen. Targeting the artist by saying "These people are not one of us," Destici stated:

"Actually, I would like to say this; I don't want to talk more, but the life of the person mentioned is clear. Or rather, her lack of a life is clear. She has experienced all kinds of immorality throughout her life. In fact, our sisters and mothers should not be holding her hand, or even letting her join the halay."

GÜLBEN ERGEN RESPONDS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Responding to Mustafa Destici's statements via social media, Gülben Ergen reacted sharply to the allegations. Sharing a photo taken with the woman in the video, Ergen wrote:

"For me, people are divided into two. Good people. Bad people. I was lost in the moment with our young girls dancing the halay. There is no such thing as a woman whose hand I did not hold. Drown in your malice! I do not judge people based on what they wear or do not wear. You are a pathetic army of ignorant people who judge!"
