Mustafa Türkay Sonel, son of former Tunceli Governor Sonel, arrested

Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, has been arrested by the court following his detention as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, who has been missing in Tunceli since January 5, 2020.

Operations were carried out in 7 provinces on suspicion of murder in the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, a second-year student in the Child Development Department at Munzur University, who has been missing in Tunceli since January 5, 2020, and 13 suspects were detained. Among the suspects whose statements were taken at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and who were referred to the courthouse, Engin Y., Cemile Y., Zeinal A., Erdoğan E., Gökhan E., Şükrü E., Ferhat G., Celal A., and Nurşen A. were arrested, while Uğurcan A., Süleyman Ö., and Savaş G. were released under judicial control.

Finally, Mustafa Türkay Sonel, whose proceedings at the courthouse were ongoing, was brought before the duty magistrate. Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of the then-Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, who was detained in Elazığ yesterday and taken to Erzurum, was also arrested by the court. Thus, the number of arrests in the investigation has risen to 10.

On the other hand, it was reported that the then-chief physician Çağdaş Özdemir, who was detained in Bursa yesterday as part of the investigation, will also be referred to the prosecutor's office in the coming period. It was learned that the Red Notice procedures are ongoing for Umut Altaş, for whom an arrest warrant has been issued and who is currently in the USA.
