AFAD reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred off the coast of the Seferihisar district of İzmir today (April 19) at 11:02. It was noted that the depth of the earthquake was 6.97 kilometers.
The first statement regarding the earthquake came from seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür.
In the statement he made on his social media account, Görür used the following expressions:
"Friends, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Gulf of Kuşadası. The earthquake was just north of Samos Island and on the Samos Fault Zone. A 6.6 magnitude earthquake also occurred here on October 30, 2020 (İzmir Earthquake)"
