Following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri, earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Naci Görür reiterated his expectation of a major Istanbul earthquake. Görür stated, "If there is a counter-opinion, let them bring the data and put it in front of me. It must have been published in high-impact international journals for me to take my hat off to it. "The northern branch of the Marmara, the northern branch of the North Anatolian Fault, is 160 kilometers long. One is the 65-kilometer Adalar fault passing south of the Princes' Islands. If this breaks, it will produce an earthquake in the magnitude of 6.
