Geoscientist and Earthquake Expert Naci Görür shared a post on his social media account regarding the earthquakes that took place in the Çelikhan district of Adıyaman and the Karlıova district of Bingöl.
Regarding the earthquake in Adıyaman, Görür stated, “Friends, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Çelikhan/Adıyaman. The earthquake occurred on the East Anatolian Fault (DAF), which has largely been fractured. In this respect, it can be characterized as an aftershock. As is known, the February 6 earthquakes transferred energy to these areas.”
Regarding the earthquake in Bingöl, Görür noted that it occurred in a region close to the intersection point of two fault lines, stating, "A 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Karlıova/Soğukpınar, Bingöl. The earthquake is within the DAF zone, close to the intersection point of the DAF and the North Anatolian Fault (KAF)."
