Naci Görür's statement on the Samsun earthquake: Our coastlines are advancing toward the sea!

A magnitude 4 earthquake occurred off the coast of Samsun. Following the earthquake, geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür issued a warning in a post on his social media account, stating, "Our country's coastlines are advancing northward, toward the sea, by a certain amount."

According to information on the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) website, a magnitude 4 earthquake with its epicenter in the Black Sea off the coast of Samsun occurred at 03:10.

The epicenter of the earthquake was determined to be 17.48 kilometers from the Samsun Gulf-Atakum district at a depth of 18.27 kilometers. Some citizens in the city who felt the earthquake went outside and waited.

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür issued warnings on his social media account following the earthquake off the coast of Samsun. Görür warned, "Our country's coastlines are advancing northward, toward the sea, by a certain amount."

The earthquake expert noted, "A 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Taflan, Samsun. This earthquake is likely related to thrust faults dipping southward, parallel to the coast. Our country's coastlines are advancing northward, toward the sea, by a certain amount."
