Names of those whose parliamentary membership was revoked and those who returned since 2015 announced

Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Bekir Bozdağ shared the current status regarding legislative immunities. According to the statement, there are a total of 1052 immunity files belonging to 145 deputies in the Joint Committee, which consists of members of the TBMM Constitutional and Justice Committee.

Bozdağ responded to a written parliamentary question submitted by DEM Party Diyarbakır Deputy Ceylan Akça Cupolo regarding requests for the lifting of immunity and those whose parliamentary membership ended during this process.

DISTRIBUTION OF FILES BY PARTY

According to the information provided, the distribution of files in the Joint Committee by party is as follows:

• 8 files belonging to 5 AKP deputies,
• 325 files belonging to 71 CHP deputies,
• 628 files belonging to 43 DEM Party deputies,
• 11 files belonging to 9 MHP deputies,
• 30 files belonging to 9 IYI Party deputies,
• 1 file belonging to 1 New Way Party (Yeni Yol Partisi) deputy,
• 42 files belonging to 3 TİP deputies,
• 2 files belonging to 1 Democratic Regions Party (DBP) deputy,
• 5 files belonging to 3 independent deputies.

With this data, it was stated that 1052 files belonging to a total of 145 deputies from 8 parties are awaiting processing in the committee.

PARLIAMENTARY MEMBERSHIPS REVOKED DUE TO FINAL CONVICTION

Bozdağ also listed the names whose parliamentary memberships have been revoked due to final convictions since January 1, 2015, within the scope of Articles 76, 83, and 84 of the Constitution and the provisions of the TBMM Rules of Procedure. Accordingly;

• Can Atalay’s parliamentary memberships have ended.

THOSE REVOKED DUE TO ABSENTEEISM

The names whose parliamentary memberships were revoked due to absenteeism in the same period were announced as follows:

• Faysal Sarıyıldız,
• Tuğba Hezer Öztürk,
• Leyla Zana,
• Semra Güzel.

PARLIAMENTARY MEMBERSHIPS REINSTATED BY CONSTITUTIONAL COURT RULINGS

Bozdağ recalled that the parliamentary memberships of Enis Berberoğlu and Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu were revoked upon the reading of final court decisions in the TBMM General Assembly, but that they regained their status as deputies after the local court letters were read in the General Assembly following Constitutional Court rulings.
