Narin Güran's uncle Salim Güran's latest testimony revealed: What did he say about the illicit affair allegations?

The investigation into the death of Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days after she went missing in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Bağlar district, continues.

The number of people arrested as part of the investigation has risen to 11.

Most recently, Narin Güran's uncle Salim Güran's worker, Ramazan Atasoy, was released on September 13, when 22 suspects were brought to the prosecutor's office. However, he was re-detained after the deleted phone records were recovered and was arrested following his testimony. Meanwhile, uncle Salim Güran, who was brought to the courthouse to testify again, gave contradictory statements contrary to his initial testimony.

In his first testimony on September 2 after being brought to the prosecutor's office, Güran answered the question of why he deleted his phone records by citing the alleged discovery of 380 bullets in Narin's father's barn, saying, "I downloaded a voice recording program to my phone 10-15 days before the incident. I downloaded this program to remember the things I talked about later. I did not delete the voice recordings, but I did delete the call logs I made on the day of the incident. On the evening of the incident, 380 bullets were found in my brother Arif's barn, and they told me about it. I did a bad thing by deleting the records."

"I SPOKE WITH SEX WORKERS, THAT'S WHY I DELETED THEM"

In his testimony taken again on September 13 in the presence of 3 prosecutors, Güran did not mention the 380 bullets this time, but instead claimed that he had been speaking with "sex workers." Güran defended himself by saying, "I have text messages on my phone with sex workers, that's why I deleted them. I don't know why the family members deleted their phone records."

According to the report by AA, Güran, who argued in his testimony that different children had gotten into his vehicle, said, "I have nothing to say regarding the fact that only Narin's DNA was found."

Upon being asked about the statement of Mehmet Selim Atasoy, who was arrested as part of the investigation, that his daughters were not in the field on the day of the incident and that only his son and himself were there, and being asked about his claims that "Salim took his daughters to his house in the village 2 days before the incident," Güran stated the following:

"I do not accept this statement. The girls were also in the field on the day of the incident. I took the girls home on the day of the incident. Around 20:00, I received a phone call and they said, 'Narin is missing.' The person who called me was my daughter Gizem. When I went into the village by car, the whole village was at their doors. I called the gendarmerie commander on the phone and said, 'My brother's daughter is missing.' I joined the search on foot. We searched until morning."

"I CONSTANTLY DELETE DIGITAL DATA ON MY PHONE"

When it was pointed out that "it was determined from camera footage that he passed in front of the school at 18:59," Güran stated that he used that road.

"After Mehmet Selim Atasoy called me and said, 'There is a suspicious vehicle going back and forth on the road,' I immediately left M at his uncle Hüseyin's house and quickly went towards where the suspicious vehicle was. This is the reason why I passed in front of the camera in question," said Güran, claiming that the content of his conversation with the detained Nevzat Bahtiyar at 15:08 on the day of the incident was about drinking water.

Upon the prosecutor's question, "In the Digital Material Examination Report regarding the mobile phone seized from you, it is understood that you deleted all normal calls and WhatsApp call records before August 23. Why did you feel the need to delete the call records?" Güran replied, "I constantly delete the digital data on my phone. I do not have the intention of destroying any evidence regarding Narin's death."

Upon the question, "It has been determined that many members of your family deleted the call, messaging, and WhatsApp records on their phones regarding August 21. Why did they feel the need to do such a thing?" Güran claimed that he did not know why the family members deleted this data.

"I DID NOT CALL OUT TO NEVZAT"

Stating that he knew Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was arrested as part of the investigation, Güran continued his testimony as follows:

"All the points that Nevzat Bahtiyar has made against me are lies. I definitely did not call out to Nevzat on the day of the incident. I definitely did not see him between 15:00 and 16:00. I only saw him in a crowd while I was heading towards my house in the village after 20:00. I do not accept these statements. I did not kill my niece Narin and hand her over to him after loading her body into my car."

To the question, "Although you said that you were in the field when Nevzat Bahtiyar called you on the day of the incident and that you did not speak with Nevzat Bahtiyar at all until 20:00 in the following process, it is understood from the HTS analyses that you were together in a way consistent with Nevzat Bahtiyar's statement between 15:21 and 15:46 on the day of the incident. What is your statement regarding this contradiction?" Güran replied, "I definitely did not speak with Nevzat Bahtiyar on the day of the incident. The base station analyses are wrong. I do not accept this point either."

Salim Güran, who was also asked about his phone conversations with R.A., the son of the detained Mehmet Selim Atasoy, at different times on the day of the incident, said that they might have talked about issues related to the field and that he did not remember the content of the conversations. When asked about the content of his conversations with R.A. at 18:37, 18:42, 18:51, and 18:54, Salim Güran claimed that the conversations were about the white vehicle they considered "suspicious."

"You stated that upon Mehmet Selim Atasoy's call, you passed in front of the school and went to check the white-colored car. It is established by camera footage that Mehmet Selim Atasoy called you at 18:27, but you passed in front of the school at 18:59; furthermore, you stated that the 4 conversations you had with R.A. between 18:37-18:54 were about the car and the field and took place at the point where you checked the car, and that afterwards you went to the field and the place where the drilling was. This situation contradicts the fact that it is established that you passed in front of the school camera at 18:59." When asked what he had to say to this, Salim Güran noted that he had nothing to say on this matter.

"IT IS A COMPLETE LIE THAT I HAD AN AFFAIR WITH MY SISTERS-IN-LAW"

Claiming that he learned that Narin had been kidnapped from his child, Salim Güran also spoke about the allegations that he had an affair with Narin's mother, Yüksel Güran, saying, "My child called and told me that Narin was missing. As soon as I arrived at the village, I called the school officials and had the school opened. It is a complete lie that I had an affair with Narin's mother and my sister-in-law Maşallah."
