Narin post from Nevzat Çelik, author of 'Şafak Türküsü'

Famous poet Nevzat Çelik, author of the song 'Şafak Türküsü' performed by Ahmet Kaya, shared a post on his social media account regarding the Narin Güran murder, which has deeply affected all of Turkey.

Addressing 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır on August 21 and whose lifeless body was found 19 days later, Çelik said, "Dear child Narin Güran.. In Tavşantepe Village, where you were born but could not grow up, your father Arif Güran, your uncle Salim Güran, your mother Yüksel Güran, your brother Enes Güran, and all your relatives are silent. It is as if they do not want it to be known why and by whom you were killed."

Nevzat Çelik continued his post with the following statements:

"Dear child Narin Güran..

In #Tavşantepe Village, where you were born but could not grow up, on one side your father #ArifGüran, your uncle Salim Güran, your mother Yüksel Güran, your brother Enes Güran, and all your relatives…

They are silent!

It is as if they do not want it to be known why and by whom you were killed!

On the other side, millions of people who never knew you but whose hearts ache for you…

They suspected from the very beginning that you were not missing, but killed.

Now, just like your body that was covered up, they fear that the truth about why and by whom you were killed will also be covered up!

They want the truth to be laid bare, those who harmed you to be tried, and justice to be served.

And that is why they insistently ask:

TRAVEL BAN HAD BEEN IMPOSED

Poet Nevzat Çelik, who was detained in recent months due to a post regarding the İzmir fire, had been issued a travel ban.

Speaking on the matter, Çelik said, "Are we not to see, hear, or speak at all? Are we not to criticize at all? What is wanted? Should we just comb our hair while the neighborhood burns? Well then, how are we to remain human?"
