Narin's father reveals the motive for the murder: 'Because I made fun of him...'

The investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz stream on September 8, has been completed regarding the 4 detained suspects.
The indictment prepared against the detained suspects—mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar—requesting aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity" has been accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court.
'HE DID IT OUT OF SPITE'
According to the report in Haberturk, Narin Güran's father, Arif Güran, made striking statements following the indictment. When asked, "Was there any hostility between you and Nevzat Bahtiyar?" father Güran replied:
"There was at first. 10-15 days, 10 days before this incident happened, regarding a car trade between him and me, he was already saying, 'I absolutely do not accept it, I will not give this money.' There are witnesses; I called them. He gave half to me and half to him again. But he stuttered a bit there. I made fun of his stuttering there. He did it out of spite for that."
'HE SAT NEXT TO ME, DRANK TEA, JOINED THE SEARCH'
When asked, "But despite that, you didn't suspect him when Narin went missing," Arif Güran replied:
"Of course... Why didn't I suspect him? The man was participating in the search efforts every day, coming to the mosque every evening, sitting next to me, drinking tea, praying. If a person has the courage... He took my daughter and hid her in the stream; he is such a courageous person, and he came and sat next to me, why wouldn't he do this?"
When asked, "He claims he received the body from Salim Güran. Could he have that kind of courage for that reason?" father Güran replied:
"It's impossible. When Nevzat Bahtiyar was with me, Salim Güran was not with me. Salim Güran was with the soldiers, as he was the village headman, he was going around with the soldiers."
