Nasuh Mahruki shares 'plainclothes police showed up at my door': First statement released

A police raid was conducted at Mahruki's home. Mahruki announced the situation on his social media account with the following words.

“Dear friends, I am having dinner at a kebab restaurant with a group of friends this evening. Police, who said they were 7-8 plainclothes officers, came to my house and said they had come to take me in. I am now leaving the restaurant and heading home. Please be informed, and please follow the process."

According to the report in Cumhuriyet, Nasuh Mahruki, who was sought for detention by police following his social media post regarding the Supreme Election Council (YSK), said the following about the process he experienced:

Mahruki stated, "I believe this detention attempt is happening because of my post regarding the Supreme Election Council (YSK). I do not trust the YSK, and I believe there will be one final attempt to help the government win the election through fraud and manipulation. I believe this is happening because I used my constitutional right as a citizen to express my concern," he said.

Emphasizing that the subject here is not himself, but the constitutional rights and freedom of thought of citizens, Mahruki called out, "That is why everyone should strongly oppose this attempt and say no."

"THE GOVERNMENT AND THE YSK ARE SETTING A TRAP"

Mahruki had shared a message on his social media account yesterday at 19:09 and used the following expressions:

"Great Turkish nation, you must be very careful and vigilant. The government and the YSK are setting a trap to steal the elections one last time. The Chamber of Computer Engineers must have the authority to audit on your behalf in an early Presidential election. If they are not audited, they will steal our votes, replace them with fakes, and win the election illegally again. This would be the end of the Republic of Turkey, and this end would be more terrifying than even your worst nightmares."

MAHRUKİ POST FROM ÜMİT ÖZDAĞ

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ announced that he spoke with Nasuh Mahruki's wife to get information about the matter following Mahruki's post about the plainclothes police.

Özdağ included the following statements in his social media post:

"I just spoke with Mr. Nasuh Mahruki's wife. Plainclothes police officers from the Istanbul Police Department came to take Nasuh Mahruki from his home regarding an investigation. They did not provide information to his wife about the subject.

If they had called the man who climbed Everest, he could have even entered the Police Department on Vatan Street through the chimney. What is the need to take him from his home at night like this? Get well soon, Nasuh Mahruki."
