National athletes clash on the track

During the triple jump competition at the Turkish Indoor Athletics Championships, a verbal argument broke out between national athletes Tuğba Danışmaz and Sedef Çevik. The tension that started on the track escalated quickly.

TURNED INTO A PHYSICAL FIGHT

As the argument intensified, a physical fight broke out between the two athletes, involving hair-pulling and scuffling. Those moments caused astonishment among the spectators and other athletes present in the arena.

Following the fight, officials and other athletes intervened to separate the parties. However, the tension did not end there.

A fistfight also occurred between Cüneyt Yüksel, the Technical Committee Chairman of the Turkish Athletics Federation who is also a coach, and Arda Eriş, a former national athlete and the boyfriend of Tuğba Danışmaz, who was on the sidelines.

COMPETITION HALTED

Due to the incidents, the championship was halted for a while. With the intervention of federation officials, the situation was calmed down and the competition was paused.

DISQUALIFICATION DECISION ISSUED

As a result of the evaluation by the referee committee, Tuğba Danışmaz and Sedef Çevik were disqualified from the Turkish Indoor Athletics Championships.
