National Defense Minister Güler: The process for Eurofighter continues

National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler stated, "The process for the Eurofighter is continuing exactly as planned in every aspect. Our business is with the UK, not Germany. Everything is proceeding as we planned."

National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attended the April 23 reception held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Responding to a question from members of the press regarding the Eurofighter process at the reception, Minister Güler said, "The process for the Eurofighter is continuing exactly as planned in every aspect. Our business is with the UK, not Germany. Everything is proceeding as we planned."

Regarding the question asked about the F-35 and F-16 procurement process, Minister Güler stated, "We believe the President's visit to America is important. We will talk after that. The F-16 process is also continuing exactly as planned."

When reminded that Infantry Specialist Corporal Berat Mecit Day, who was seriously wounded in an attack by members of the terrorist organization in the Operation Claw-Lock region yesterday, had been martyred in the hospital where he was receiving treatment, Minister Güler said, "God willing, we will reach a Turkey without terrorism. Meanwhile, they launched a drone yesterday; it hit our Mehmetçik (soldier), and we took him to the hospital, but we could not save him, he was martyred. May God have mercy on him."
