National Security Council convenes

The National Security Council has convened under the chairmanship of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting will address key issues such as tensions in the Middle East, the situation in Gaza, counter-terrorism efforts, and regional crises. Additionally, operations against PKK/YPG targets and the latest developments in the fight against FETÖ and ISIS will be evaluated.

The National Security Council has convened under the chairmanship of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Issues concerning Turkey's national security in light of the constantly escalating tensions in the Middle East will be on the table at the meeting in Beştepe.

REGIONAL CRISIS ON THE NSC AGENDA

Developments in the Middle East will be the primary agenda of the NSC. The increasing tension on the Iran-Israel and Israel-Lebanon fronts will be closely examined. The potential impacts of the regional crisis, which is steadily widening in scope, on Turkey will be discussed comprehensively.

The NSC will also discuss the latest situation in Gaza following the massacre Israel has been carrying out for a year. The roadmap to be followed for achieving a ceasefire and delivering humanitarian aid to the region, as well as diplomatic initiatives, will be evaluated.

COUNTER-TERRORISM ALSO ON THE TABLE

Counter-terrorism will be another topic to be discussed at the National Security Council. Ongoing operations against PKK/YPG targets in northern Iraq and Syria will be addressed. Steps to be taken on the ground in line with the intelligence gathered will be discussed. The latest status in the fight against FETÖ and ISIS will also be evaluated at the meeting.

The Russia-Ukraine War, developments in Cyprus, and Azerbaijan-Armenia relations will also be on the agenda of the NSC meeting.
