NATO Secretary General speaks ahead of meeting with Erdoğan
Speaking about his upcoming visit to Ankara, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated, "I look forward to meeting with President Erdoğan to address the growing challenges to our collective security."

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte evaluated his first visit to Ankara since taking office.
NATO Secretary General Rutte said, "I look forward to meeting with President Erdoğan to address the growing challenges to our collective security, including the threat of terrorism, the war in Ukraine, and the crisis in the Middle East."
Rutte stated, "In an increasingly unpredictable world, Turkey makes invaluable contributions to our Alliance, strengthening deterrence on our southern flank. Turkey possesses the second-largest army in NATO, an impressive defense industry, and has been a strong and committed ally for over 70 years."
In a written statement issued by NATO, it was reported that Rutte would meet today with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.
It was also noted that Rutte would meet with Turkish defense industry officials, and visit the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities as well as Anıtkabir.
