Necati Arabacı arrested

Teams from the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Organized Crime Branch received intelligence that Coşkun Necati Arabacı, who is alleged to be the founder and leader of an organized crime group, would be entering Turkey. Following this, necessary security measures were taken, and an operation was conducted at Adnan Menderes Airport on October 5. Arabacı, who arrived in İzmir from Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, was detained by the teams.

After completing his procedures at the police station, Arabacı was referred to the courthouse. Brought before the duty magistrate, Arabacı was arrested and sent to prison.

WHO IS NECATİ ARABACI?

Known by nicknames such as the "Cologne Godfather" or "Hellish Necati," in reference to the film "The Godfather," Arabacı is known as a criminal who has served prison time in Germany for various offenses.

Born in 1972 in Cologne, Germany, to a Turkish immigrant family, there is little information available about Arabacı's family. Arabacı, one of the leaders of the Hells Angels motorcycle club, which has been involved in violent incidents across Europe, first drew the attention of German authorities in the 90s. It is alleged that Arabacı gained influence in Cologne's red-light district through his connections with security personnel close to the Hells Angels.

It is claimed that during this period, Arabacı amassed a fortune through his activities in various brothels, such as 'Babylon' in Elsdorf near Cologne and Wiago in Leverkusen, as well as other businesses in Mallorca. German media reports suggest that he later owned numerous brothels through front connections and expanded his influence into Frankfurt and the Ruhr region.

However, by the 2000s, Arabacı was arrested in 2002 and sentenced to 9 years in prison in 2004 for "leading a criminal organization, forcing into prostitution, human trafficking, and robbery."

Furthermore, while he was detained in Bochum Prison, it was suspected that Arabacı had plotted to kill the investigating prosecutor. However, these allegations could not be pursued due to a lack of evidence. In 2007, after serving one-third of his sentence, Arabacı was deported to Turkey on the condition that he would not return to Germany.

Despite his deportation from Germany, Arabacı's influence in the country continued. In 2010, he was "accepted as the president of Hells Angels MC Nomads Turkey" and, according to press reports, "expanded his network with brothels and sex workers across Europe."

Security forces also suspect that Arabacı is involved in drug trafficking and has made a fortune from heroin from South America.

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) is actually an organization spread across Europe. Arabacı is considered the European boss of the club, whose members call themselves Hells Angels. Founded in 1948 and operating in 32 countries, the club was banned in the Netherlands because it frequently made headlines for criminal incidents.

A European Union-wide arrest warrant was issued for Arabacı in 2015, and he was arrested in Turkey in 2018 but was released due to lack of evidence.

In 2023, Arabacı appeared at the circumcision wedding of the son of organized crime leader Ayhan Bora Kaplan. Arabacı had pinned a sash containing numerous gold coins on the son of Kaplan, who was sentenced to a total of 68 years in prison for numerous crimes including "establishing and managing an armed criminal organization and intentional injury."

It was announced that Arabacı had been detained in Slovakia based on information entered into the Schengen Information System by Germany in August. After his statement, Arabacı was released on the condition that he leave the country within 30 days.
