ARI'S STATEMENT REGARDING THE IMAGES
Mayor Arı, from the İYİ Party, stated in his released statement that the breakfast in question was not prepared by his team and that they had no involvement with the shared images. Arı used the following expressions in his statement:
“I felt the need to make this statement to prevent misunderstandings regarding the breakfast images that appeared on social media today. The breakfast in the images is neither something prepared by us nor something shared by us. It was an environment where we were invited as guests.”
Arı also stated that the venue owner has previous posts showing similar hospitality, adding that this situation should help clear up any misconceptions.
EMPHASIS ON 'WE DID NOT USE PUBLIC RESOURCES'
Expressing that his principled stance has not changed following the discussions, Arı underscored that he has not used public resources for personal purposes during his term. He included the following words in his statement:
“Since the day we took office, we have taken care to accept invitations without making any social, cultural, or economic distinctions. This is a natural result of both our understanding of duty and our human stance. As always, we have not used public resources in our personal lives today, and we will not. Our stance on this matter is clear.”
