Nevşin Mengü shares 'handcuff show' post on the state of freedom of expression: 'If you touch on other topics'

While the minimum wage rate announced by Minister Işıkhan did not satisfy workers, the words of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, 'we did not let our workers be crushed by inflation,' became a major topic of discussion. Journalist Nevşin Mengü also made a striking reference to the minimum wage and freedom of expression on her social media account.

The inadequacy of the minimum wage has become the country's primary agenda. While the amount announced as 22 thousand 104 liras did not satisfy workers, statements from the government side claiming that the figure is in line with inflation followed one after another...

Journalist Nevşin Mengü also shared a post on her social media account regarding the dissatisfaction caused by the minimum wage, stating that the announced amount was also harshly criticized by figures close to the AKP. Interpreting this critical freedom as a result of the responsibility resting on Mehmet Şimşek's shoulders, Mengü made a reference to journalist Özlem Gürses, who was placed under house arrest, without naming her, and described the current state of freedom of expression with the words 'the well-known handcuff show'.

Nevşin Mengü had also been targeted and detained due to an interview she conducted on her YouTube channel. After her statement was taken, Mengü was released under judicial control conditions.

WHY WAS NEVŞİN MENGÜ DETAINED? 

Nevşin Mengü, who hosted Salih Müslim, who is wanted with a red notice, on her YouTube channel yesterday, was targeted on social media immediately after the broadcast.
