New arrests in Bolu fire disaster investigation

In the investigation into the hotel fire in Bolu that claimed 78 lives, 6 more of the detained suspects have been arrested, while 5 were released under judicial control. The number of people arrested as part of the investigation has risen to 15.

The investigation into the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives, is ongoing.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 11 more of those detained were referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the gendarmerie.

Of the suspects whose questioning by the prosecutor's office was completed, 6 were arrested by the duty magistrate, while 5 were released under judicial control.

Thus, the number of people arrested within the scope of the investigation has risen to 15.

WHO WAS DETAINED?

Among those detained are Gazelle Hotel Manager Ahmet Demir, Gazelle Technical Staff Bahadır Bahar, Gazelle Accounting Manager Cemal Özer, Kartal Hotel Electrician Murat Duman, Mudurnu Energy Chairman of the Board İbrahim Polat, and Mudurnu Energy Manager İsmail Karagöz, as well as Gazelle Electricians Bahadır Özkuru, Tahsin Pekcan, and Kadir Çelik; Kartal Hotel Electricians Gürkan Oskan and Bayram Ütkü; Gazelle Accounting Staff Mehmet Salun and Interior Architect Ali B.

2 NAMES REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE

According to İHA, Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener, Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, and Fire Department Personnel İrfan Acar were also referred to the courthouse late at night. The statements of the municipal employees will be taken at the prosecutor's office today.

Of the 14 suspects previously detained as part of the investigation, 9 people, including Grand Kartal Hotel owner Halit Ergül, the company's general manager Emir Aras, the hotel manager Zeki Yılmaz, as well as the accounting manager, a cook, an electrician, and kitchen staff, were arrested, while an occupational safety specialist was released under judicial control.
