New arrests in operation targeting Antalya Metropolitan Municipality

Five people have been arrested in a new wave of operations targeting the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality over bribery allegations, which saw 21 individuals detained. A trustee has been appointed to the "Kanal V" television station, and the assets of Zeynep Kerimoğlu, the former daughter-in-law of Muhittin Böcek, and station owner Mehmet Okan K. have been seized.

In the fifth wave of the "bribery" investigation targeting the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, 21 people were detained. Among those taken into custody were Zeynep Kerimoğlu, the former daughter-in-law of Muhittin Böcek, businessman Emin Hesapçıoğlu, and several municipal bureaucrats.

TRUSTEE APPOINTED TO KANAL V TELEVISION

Within the scope of the investigation, a trustee was appointed to the Antalya-based "Kanal V" television station. In addition to the station's owner, Mehmet Okan K., a request for trustees was also made for 8 companies operating in different sectors. All assets of Mehmet Okan K., including his 7 companies—6 of which are in Ankara and 1 in Antalya—have been seized.

Mehmet Okan K., who was previously arrested and subsequently released as part of the Manavgat Municipality investigation, has once again been named in the case file.

FORMER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW KERİMOĞLU'S ASSETS SEIZED

It has been learned that the assets of Zeynep Kerimoğlu, the former daughter-in-law of Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek, have also been seized.

The names of those detained by the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime teams, under the coordination of the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, are as follows:

Zeynep Kerimoğlu, former deputy secretary general Tuncay S., ANT Tepe company manager İsmail E., municipal personnel Halil K. and Halil A., workers Çağrı G. and Kaan K., businesspeople Yıldız M., Emin Kemal H., Hayrettin A., Emin A., Bilal S., Süleyman E., Mehmet Salih A., Mehmet İbrahim E., Kanal V owner Mehmet Okan K. and his wife Birsen K., lawyer Fırat A., dismissed police officer Oktay A., and sales representative Levent Ş.

5 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Following the processing of the suspects at the police station, 7 people were released. 14 individuals, including Zeynep Kerimoğlu, were referred to the courthouse. Of these individuals, Mehmet Okan K., Emin Kemal Hesapçıoğlu, Levent Şapçılar, Tuncay Saruhan, and İsmail Erdoğmuş were arrested. While 6 people were released, judicial control measures were imposed on Zeynep Kerimoğlu, Birsen K., and Halil K.
