The young woman who argued with the father who was assaulted in front of his two children on the Marmaray has filed a complaint against him.
According to Show Haber reporter Oya Nur Kaya, the young woman who argued with the father before the assault stated that she was insulted and has filed an official complaint.
The footage recorded by journalist Fuat Kozluklu on his mobile phone had caused a major stir in the public eye. Stating that the incident was not limited to what was reflected in the video, Kozluklu made the following statement:
"The matter is not limited to what is seen in the footage. It is necessary to explain what happened beforehand. The gentleman, who boarded the Marmaray carriage with his two children, I believe from Erenköy or Bostancı, snapped at the young lady standing by the door and talking on the phone, saying, 'Why are you standing here? I am trying to enter with my children, they had trouble. What if they had tripped and gotten stuck or fallen?' The young woman replied, 'Excuse me,' and apologized. However, it was easy to enter through the middle of the boarding door.
The gentleman, whose nose was broken, continued to grumble after boarding the carriage and the doors closed. This situation lasted for minutes. I think 5-6 minutes... The lady standing at the door started to cry. Passengers who saw this warned the man, saying, 'Enough, sir, be quiet, drop the subject.' Unfortunately, the man holding his children's hands did not stop; he continued to grumble. Two people, who ended up as complainants in the incident, walked toward the man, saying things like, 'Enough already, man, why did you make such a big deal out of this?' based on the young woman's crying. I opened my mobile phone camera and started recording. The person who was arrested told the father with the children to 'get out' as the Marmaray approached the station, punched him, and got off the carriage. The Marmaray moved on. The other young man also approached the man with the broken nose while grumbling and pushed him. The parties got off at the Süreyya Plajı station."
