Seçil Erzan, who was arrested on charges of defrauding many well-known figures including Arda Turan, Emre Belözoğlu, Selçuk İnan, Emre Çolak, and Semih Kaya through a fund named after "Fatih Terim," remains a major topic of discussion in Turkey.
In the fraud case known publicly as the "Fatih Terim Fund," where 7 defendants, 2 of whom are in custody, are being tried, the text messages between banker Seçil Erzan and Arda Turan have been included in the case file.
In the WhatsApp correspondence between the detained defendant Seçil Erzan and Arda Turan, which is being heard at the Istanbul 41st High Criminal Court, the problems experienced by Turan, who wanted to retrieve his money, and Erzan's attempts to stall him were revealed.
'I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE PENNY, DO YOU REALIZE?'
In the correspondence, following Erzan's words, "No, no, you are not panicking about the money, you misunderstood me, I am holding it for yours, I cannot talk here," Turan replied, "Let it wait, Seçil, I don't have a single penny, how much will come out tomorrow? I put nearly 15 million in cash there, you took it out. I have 35 thousand dollars left, I took out a loan. I don't have a single penny, Seçil, do you realize? It feels like I'm joking."
In the continuation of the messages, while the defendant told Turan from March 7th to April that "you will get your money" using various excuses, Turan replied on March 24th, "I barely got 1 million in 2 months and there is still the deficit there, this, that. I am getting tired. You are saying such things that I am not sleeping anyway. For 3-4 months, I haven't had a single day of relief. But I am disgusted with myself for thinking and talking about this money every day. Please, I beg you, help me."
'I STARTED LYING, I AM GOING TO HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN'
Turan, who could not get his money back, later messaged the defendant, "You left neither Ramadan, nor fasting, nor worship. You are making a person have a nervous breakdown. I ask how much will come out, there is no answer to that either. I don't know what is happening, what we are doing. I get up and lie to Emre and Muslera. I've become ill. I'm about to have a nervous breakdown," he wrote.
In another exchange, while Turan forwarded a screenshot of a message Emre Çolak sent him saying, "Brother, good morning, is the money being deposited today?" to Erzan, Erzan stated that she was doing everything she could, that she had no strength left to endure, and that no one could bear this burden.
BANK SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE IN THE FILE
On the other hand, some security camera footage belonging to the bank has also been entered into the file. The images show the detained defendant Ali Yörük allegedly delivering money in a bag, which he had received from some complainants and brought with him, at the bank.
Furthermore, the security camera also recorded defendant Seçil Erzan and two people with her placing money on a table into a bag on September 27 and December 2, 2022.
