New courtroom in Silivri ahead of IMM trial: Access via tunnel
Once completed, the massive courtroom under construction at the Silivri Prison Complex ahead of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) trial and the Aziz İhsan Aktaş cases will be the largest courthouse hall in Turkey. The structure, which has a capacity of 2,295 people, is scheduled for delivery within 60–120 days.

The construction process of a large-scale courtroom at the prison campus has been accelerated ahead of the IMM trial and the cases related to Aziz İhsan Aktaş to be heard in Silivri. According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Sabah, this new hall, which covers 3,240 square meters and has a capacity of 2,295 people, will hold the title of Turkey's largest courtroom once completed.
It is reported that the structure, which is being built by TOKİ and has a total indoor area of 11,000 square meters, is aimed to be completed and delivered within approximately 60 to 120 days in line with an accelerated schedule.
ENTRY VIA TUNNEL CONNECTION
According to the plans, the hall will be able to accommodate 555 defendants, 1,268 lawyers, and 472 spectators simultaneously. Prison transport vehicles will bring the defendants to the exterior of the building; from there, thanks to an underground tunnel system, the defendants will be taken directly into the courtroom without any contact.
