Mustafa Atmaca, who was detained for insulting Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, stated in his testimony that "he is a tuberculosis patient and his treatment is ongoing."
According to the report in Cumhuriyet, it was announced that Atmaca was released following his testimony due to his tuberculosis diagnosis and will be tried without arrest. A new criminal complaint has been filed against Atmaca on the grounds that he threatens public health by operating a kebab shop in a public area despite having tuberculosis, which is a contagious disease.

In the criminal complaint filed by CHP Erzurum Provincial Chair Serhat Can Eş, it was stated: "The disease the suspect carries, tuberculosis, is a contagious disease that is transmitted through bacilli mixed into the air when a person coughs, sneezes, or speaks. As such, as seen in the aforementioned posts by the suspect, operating the restaurant without taking any precautions such as masks and personally handling and manufacturing the products endangers the health of individuals."

Atmaca, who was detained in recent days, had used the following expressions during a live broadcast on his social media account: "Here, Yemen, and Jerusalem are our lands. You will go to Israel. The Ottoman Empire did not lose those lands; the dogs called secularists lost them. The dogs who brought secularism, they lost them."
